Ramp Gallery |Thought Crimes

Image of abstract figure painting by Craig McClure
Craig McClure is known quality in Kirikiriroa, Hamilton. He has been involved in changing the aesthetic landscape of the urban environment; it’s not hard to spot one of his vibrant and colourful murals within the streetscape of Kirikiriroa. For this exhibition, however, McClure examines his personal story and experiences through sculpture and painting mediums with a rich and restrained palette, layered in meaning.

The Curator of this exhibition, Tamsin Green, says she has seen this work develop from the intuitive and immediate through to the sculptural and monolithic. “This work is about the personal, but it is referenced and cited in the mythic.”

Join us on opening night to celebrate McClure’s new work in his solo exhibition with Ramp.

Opening night: 4.30pm, Thursday 2 May 2024
Exhibition runs: Thursday 2 May to Saturday 25 May 2024

Ramp is a contemporary public art gallery, situated in the heart of Hamilton City at the Wintec School of Media Arts.
