What's it all about?
This is one-day workshop with an emphasis on understanding the relationship between Drawing and Painting. It is a very much a hands on approach where students work through a series of smaller studies and finish on a very large scaled work.
The session begins with a slide presentation on learning to visually read pictorial space and to contextualize that learning to the student’s own work. From the examples shown the students apply that thinking through a set of exercises using imagery they have brought to the workshop from school.
The students are encouraged to experiment and explore with the media supplied
and thus work outside the comfort zone in order to expand their visual arts knowledge. Along the way they have a lot fun with discoveries made.
