Fees Free at Wintec

You could be eligible for fees free study under the Government’s education policy. Double check your eligibility with your National Student Number (NSN) at feesfree.govt.nz

As a quick refresh, your fees-free year will help you explore a range of options with 120 credits towards a qualification covered by the initiative. Whether you choose to study a certificate qualification or take your first steps into a three-year degree, you’ll be able to get your journey started.

There’s no age limit for the fees-free policy but it is designed for students new to tertiary study. If you’re a recent school leaver enrolling for the first time – great!

If you’ve already studied full-time for six months or more, your fees won’t be covered by the Government.

That’s where we come in! Wintec has over 25 programmes that are completely fees-free or can be studied fees-free under one of the following schemes. Need a complete career change or want to retrain in a different field? We’ve got something for you, no matter your age, background or if you’ve studied before.

Barista making coffee
Horticulture students working on vegetable garden
Trades students working on car engine
