What is a STAR course?
A STAR course is a one-day experience for your secondary school students to attend as a class or small group. They are practical learning environments with expert tutors from the School of Media Arts.
How can a STAR course help your school programme?
Students who attend STAR experiences learn practical skills that they can apply to their schoolwork, especially in units of study that require a lot of technical knowledge.
Can the teacher join too?
Of course! We welcome teachers to visit with their class and take advantage of this opportunity for their professional development.
How do you sign up?
Booking a STAR experience is easy. You can book through your school's Career Advisor. Your school may already have funding available for STAR experiences, and it's not likely to come out of your department's budget. Talk to the Careers Advisor at your school and send them this link.
Booking for Careers Advisors:
If you are a Careers Advisor, please email star@wintec.ac.nz to book a Star experience.
