Wintec and local businesses have collaborated to produce three new industry-specific post-graduate IT programmes to allow people in IT roles to upskill in ways that directly relate to their work through flexible or full-time study options.
90 years of providing the skills and knowledge to build a stronger community and thousands of careers created, Wintec is one of New Zealand's largest and leading Institutes of Technology/Polytechnics (ITPs).
With six campuses strategically located throughout the region, we are a leading provider of high quality, vocational and professional education in the Waikato region.
At Wintec you'll discover that you have the power to create your world, the way you want it.
We understand that times are changing. Although our buildings and technology reflects our commitment to that, our very core remains the same.
Our missions and values are unchanged and it is what drives our actions.
Our mission and values may be our core drivers, but our approach is what makes it happen. We understand that times are changing that's why we are committed to keeping up with the modern world.
Serving the Region since 1924
Since 1924, we have been a solid presence in the Waikato. The milestones we've reached and will continue to achieve is embedded in our history and celebrated around the region. We have come a long way since then but just imagine all that we can still do in the next coming years.
Māori at Wintec
The Māori culture and heritage is reflected in us and in what we do. From our marae and our Māori Achievement Unit to support services like Te Kete Kōnae (TKK), our environment nurture Maori ways of knowing and being in order to see successful outcomes.
Today at Wintec
Waikato-Tainui people aiming for a career in nursing or midwifery will have the opportunity to become recipients of up to 10 scholarships at Wintec in 2017 which aim to encourage more Māori into health careers.
