As a Counsellor you will help people make positive changes in their own lives. You’ll take the time to listen, to care, and support individuals, families, whānau and communities in obtaining the resources they need. Placement is a significant element of this programme.

Studying counselling at Wintec combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning. Students will have the chance to learn about the industry through putting classroom learning into practice with their own clients. Paetahi Tumu Kōrero Bachelor of Counselling programme also includes a mental health and addictions counselling practice focus. And our dedicated and experienced staff will be there to guide students every step of the way.

About the faculty

In the Centre for Health and Social Practice we provide practical interprofessional education that prepares students for a future in the health and social practice industry.
