What do you enjoy about teaching/your job?
I love seeing new students get excited about design, and also seeing their confidence and knowledge grow as they learn.
What do you love about your area?
I teach a range of different subjects within our creative degrees. I love learning about new strategies to creatively solve problems, while also utilising technology to envisage ideas. I am very interested in design strategies that lower humanity’s impact on the natural environment.
Tell us about your experience in the industry
Prior to teaching, I trained as a textile designer. This led to various jobs within the design industry, such as working as a Visual Merchandiser, in-house Graphic Designer, and I led research and development projects in the wool industry in New Zealand.
What keeps you busy outside of Media Arts?
I enjoy practicing photography, drawing, sewing (anything stitch-related), and illustration outside of teaching.
