Evolution Healthcare is committed to ensuring that talented and driven students have the resources they need to succeed in their studies and future careers. The Evolution Healthcare Undergraduate Scholarship Programme can cover tuition fees and other educational expenses for students who are now in their second year. These scholarships are designed to cover the expenses for their third and final year of study.

Scholarships

Four Registered Nurse Scholarships that can cover course costs and related expenses up to $11,000 each.

If awarded, this will be paid in two equal portions of up to $5,500 each.

  • Payment 1 is payable upon the awarding of the scholarship, and the commencement of study; and
  • Payment 2 is payable within one month of commencing employment with a company in the Evolution Healthcare Group, following successful attainment of the qualification and successful application into the relevant graduate recruitment programme at Evolution Healthcare.

AND

One Perioperative Practitioner Scholarship that can cover course costs and related expenses up to $11,000.

If awarded, this will be paid in two equal portions of up to $5,500 each.

  • Payment 1 is payable upon the awarding of the scholarship, and the commencement of study; and
  • Payment 2 is payable within one month of commencing employment with a company in the Evolution Healthcare Group, following successful attainment of the qualification and successful application into the relevant graduate recruitment programme at Evolution Healthcare.

 Two of the scholarships are specifically for students of Māori or Pacific Island descent.

Eligibility

To be eligible for an Evolution Healthcare Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in the second year of an undergraduate nursing programme at an accredited New Zealand institution to become a registered nurse in New Zealand; or
  • Be enrolled in the second year of an undergraduate perioperative practice / anaesthetic technician programme at an accredited New Zealand institution.
  • Note: Students enrolled at an accredited New Zealand institution during the first year of their master’s programme to become a registered nurse in New Zealand may also be considered.
  • Demonstrate academic excellence and maintain a strong academic record.
  • Show a commitment to pursuing a career in nursing or anaesthesia within the Evolution Healthcare network.
  • Be based in or willing and able to relocate to Wellington or Hawkes Bay.
  • Be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Pass the required New Zealand registration examinations (state or equivalent) upon programme completion to become a Registered Nurse or Perioperative Practitioner / Anaesthetic Technician, as applicable.

To be successful, you’ll also need to include a personal statement expressing your commitment to becoming a Registered Nurse or Perioperative Practitioner, along with two references from your tutor or supervisor.
