About

I am Samoan. My family moved to New Zealand twenty years ago. I have three young adult daughters and three grandchildren. I love spending time with my grandchildren whenever I can, taking them for walks at the botanic garden or the playground. Walking has always been my main activity. I like when things are organised and proper and that is how I get on with my mahi.

What do you enjoy about teaching/your job?

I enjoy being part of Wintec. I value the trusting working relationships between managers and staff, the flexibility, and the healthy work-life balance here. I also appreciate the opportunity to meet our multicultural and diverse Akonga and kaimahi from all walks of life. Supporting our Akonga through their journey – whether it's enrolments, finding classrooms, explaining timetables, or parking – is something I enjoy. Learning their names is a challenge for me, but one I embrace.

What do you love about your area?

The Centre for Language is a wonderful place to work. I love the interactions with our staff – whether they’re about work-related matters or social conversations. We share a common goal: helping our Akonga excel in their studies.
