What is it all about?
Discover the exciting world of Applied Science in this interactive one-day course at Wintec. Throughout the day, you will explore how science connects to real-world challenges in food production, environmental sustainability, and biotechnology, gaining hands-on experience through the practical sessions in our laboratories.
During the day, you will:
• Participate in interactive environmental science workshops, exploring how soil health and water quality are studied and managed.
• Explore the science behind food innovation and development through creative experiments.
• Engage directly with our tutors about study options and career opportunities in environmental science, food technology, and biotechnology.
Whether you are passionate about biotechnology, food science innovation, or caring for our environment, this taster course offers a fun and hands-on introduction to studying Applied Science Certificate, Applied Science Diploma, and Bachelor of Technology (Science) at Wintec and the exciting careers available in New Zealand’s growing science and sustainability sectors.
What to bring and/or wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing, and flat and enclosed footwear (no jandals, sandals, crocs or flats).
Wintec will provide any safety gear required.
