Publishing as a journalist, an editor and an academic, in areas that interest me. Beyond academia, this includes two books of interviews: Faces of the Goddess: New Zealand women talk about their spirituality (1997,Tandem Press) and Southern Celts: Stories from people of Irish and Scottish descent in Aotearoa (2023, Mary Egan Publishers)
Qualifications
My first degree was a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at Otago University, majoring in English Literature. (Including Political Philosophy, French and History)
I did a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching English to Adults, and a Master of Arts in Teaching Language to Adults, at Auckland University, focusing on Social Identity and Language Acquisition
I was awarded a PhD in Educational Philosophy from Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. It involved a Practice-led inquiry into how people of Irish and Scottish backgrounds live out their cultural traditions here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
