What do you enjoy about teaching/your job?
It is fantastic to see students developing skills and knowledge that they did not have at the beginning of their studies, and the growth in their confidence that results from this is energising.
What do you love about your area?
Engineering is about solving real-world problems in order to help people. To do this successfully requires precision and accuracy that comes from a knowledge and understanding of mathematical and scientific principles, and an ability to figure out how they apply to the situation at hand. This knowledge and understanding is an important part of an engineer’s toolbox, and helping the next generation of engineers to develop it is very satisfying.
