What do you enjoy about teaching/your job?

I like being at the centre of things! It’s a privilege to get a snapshot of what our ākonga, kaiako, and everyone in between are working on, and to help and support where I can. I’m also not ashamed to admit that I love a good spreadsheet!

What do you love about your area?

Media Arts is such a vibrant and creative school. I love catching glimpses of the incredible work our ākonga produce, and I especially enjoy the snatches of song that drift through the office from time to time.

Tell us about your experience in the industry

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Languages and Culture (French) and have worked across government, the third sector, and academic administration ever since. I also spent three years in Glasgow working in social housing, where I saw some truly fantastic community-based initiatives.

What keeps you busy outside of Media Arts?

I love music (both playing and listening to it) as well as crafts, movies, and catching up with friends over good food and coffee. My guilty pleasures include making obnoxiously specific playlists and curling up with a predictable K-drama and my cat.
