Your first day of class

We’ve got a whole day planned to make you feel welcome & help you get the most out of study!

Your induction is your first day of class and it is important for you to attend as you will be receiving resources and information that will be beneficial to your studies.

Please refer to the information in the 'Your First Day' tab of your programme page to check where your first day of class will be held and when you are required to attend. You can find your programme by using the course search below:

Get ready checklist

ID card
You can sort your ID by emailing your name, student ID number and a head and shoulders photo to
Parking permit
If you're planning on driving to Wintec and parking on-campus, you'll need a parking permit. Find out more about how to apply for a permit here.
If you’re looking for your timetable, check it out here (note that our timetables can change, so make sure you check back in before your first day of class).​​
Organise finances

All students and whā​nau (family) are invited to attend welcoming pōwhiri. The pōwhiri is a Māori welcoming ceremony involving speeches (mihimihi), singing (waiata) and hongi (a traditional Māori greeting):

City campus: 2019, Te Kōpū Mānia o Kirikiriroa Marae, 8.45am visitors assemble at marae entrance for a 9am start.

Rotokauri campus:   Engineering Building, 8.45am visitors assemble in Social Space Engineering Building for a 9am start.
