Manaaki Ākonga – Student Accessibility Services

Access and inclusion

Manaaki Ākonga - Student Accessibility Services is here to enable students' academic capabilities by supporting any student who may experience any barrier to fully accessing their studies due to an impairment or disability. We work with all areas of Wintec to provide inclusive support systems, and build independence and opportunities for students.

We accept that disabilities and impairments come in many shapes and forms, which is why we offer a diverse range of services to support students' individual needs.

If you're enrolled or looking to enrol at Wintec and have been diagnosed with a physical, sensory, learning, psychological impairment or illness, we encourage you to contact us to discuss how we can support you during your studies.
This may be by providing:

  • A notetaker for you in the classroom,
  • reader /writer for exams,
  • extra time or quiet space for exams,
  • mobility parking,
  • support by liaising with tutors,
  • software/technology solutions,
  • walk-through campus for accessibility option and/or,
  • equipment or other practical support.

Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss how we can support you.
