About

Nau mai, haere mai. A warm welcome to Wintec.

My name is Marion Tahana and I am fortunate to be part of the Student Learning Services (SLS) team. I have an extensive background in educational studies and adult education. Together with my colleagues my primary role is to support students to fulfil their study aspirations.  This takes the form of providing guidance in academic writing and study skills, which are essential at all levels of tertiary study. Balancing study with personal priorities is often tricky and therefore we will work with you in different learning spaces including: workshops, on-line and at our Student Learning Services locations. My role extends across foundation programmes, degree and post-graduate levels.

One of my passions is rāranga (weaving) which for now is marvelling at the creations of many talented rāranga artists. I’m also reviving my interest in cycling – I may have another IronMaori event in me. I look forward to meeting you sometime. Best wishes in your learning journey here at Wintec.

Kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui.
