Health Services


As we have re-entered Alert Level 2, we are asking all patients NOT to present to the City or Rotokauri clinics if you are unwell, especially if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Sore throat,
  • fever,
  • cough or,
  • shortness of breath.

Please ring 07 834 8869, and the nurse will triage your health needs over the telephone firstly and arrange accordingly. Phone consultations will continue, but if required, you will be asked to come into the clinic for a face to face consultation with either the nurse or doctor. 

The team is able to provide care for urgent issues, management of long-term conditions, mental health issues, repeat prescriptions and treatment of common illness.

  • Hamilton City: Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm
  • Rotokauri: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 8.30am-2pm

    Are you studying or working at Wintec?

    The on-campus Wintec Health Services teams are available to assist and support you with your physical and mental wellbeing.

    Wintec Health Services is a nurse-led practice. This means that our nurses are specially trained to provide you with a high level of care.

    When you make an appointment with the Health Services, you will speak to or have an appointment with a nurse who will assess your needs, provide health care and/or book your time with a doctor.

    The Health Services offers a range of services including:

    Accident and Urgent Medical

    If you need urgent or accident medical care, there are a number of Accident and Emergency clinics around the Waikato. In Hamilton, you can drop in to Anglesea ClinicTui Medical, or Victoria Clinic.

    Contraception (Emergency)

    If you (or a family member) has had unprotected sex and are worried about being pregnant, you may want to take an emergency contraceptive pill. This is also called the ‘morning-after pill’. You can get the emergency contraceptive pill from your doctor, the family planning association, or over the counter at some pharmacies.
