Why have smoke and vape-free campuses?
The decision to go completely smoke-free is to do our best to reduce the risk of ill health from exposure to indirect tobacco smoke for those who don’t smoke or vape, and by offering smoke-free cessation support and advice to those who wish to give up smoking and vaping to help create a safe and healthy smoke-free environment.
Other reasons include the national trend towards smoke and vape-free environments in the workplace; many Polytechnics and Universities have now gone smoke and vape-free.
Another benefit to all who visit Wintec will be the reduction in tobacco waste products around campuses.
