Rotokauri Eco Village

Designed for a semester or full-year living for adult learners (either over 20 years of age or second-year students) to share between four adults. This can be you and three friends or please ask us if we have any single placements available in existing units. Our Rotokauri Eco Village accommodation offers modern living options to get you through your study time at Wintec.

We have four-bedroom units that are semi-furnished with king single beds, lounge and dining furniture as well as a washer, dryer, television, heat pump and access to Wintec Wi-Fi.

Wellbeing and safety practices

The Rotokauri Eco Village is designed to be a highly independent, self-sufficient flatting environment for responsible, mature students, and/ or families to allow residents to balance independent living with a supportive student community. The Residential Manager can be contacted by residents to provide pastoral care and/ or dispute resolutions and visits the accommodation regularly. No staff live on-site; however, the base for Campus Security is located nearby. The staff to resident ratio is 1:16. Because of the self-sufficient nature of the accommodation, there is an emphasis on residents resolving issues amongst themselves in the first instance. A staff member is on duty after hours and can be contacted for emergencies. Unexplained absences from the community are investigated twice a week. Staff facilitate a number of events and activities throughout the year to help create an enriching community where every resident has the opportunity to make new friends and undergo personal growth.
