Governance | Wintec Council

Our Purpose

Wintec is governed by a Council appointed by the Minister for Vocational Education.

The Wintec Council provides strategic oversight, ensures strong stewardship of the organisation’s resources and supports Wintec to deliver high-quality, vocational education that meets the needs of learners, employers and communities across the Waikato.

In 2026, Wintec returned to an independent governance model. The establishment of the new Council marked an important milestone in this transition and ensures Wintec has the leadership and accountability needed to move confidently into its next chapter.
