Warwick Pitts, Wintec Operations Lead, hits a gong alongside Chen Hairong, Jinhua University of Vocational Technology Vice President, in China, October 2025.
Since 2015, the collaborative relationship between the two educational institutes has blossomed into a strong transnational education partnership, with Wintec co-delivering a range of undergraduate programmes in topics including engineering, design, and information technology to offshore students at Jinhua University.
Warwick Pitts, Wintec Operations Lead, is proud to celebrate the growing partnership.
“This year marks a decade of Wintec working side-by-side with Jinhua, delivering an educational experience that combines the best of both our institutions. It’s a partnership built on collaboration, trust, and success,” said Warwick.
“Alongside Jinhua, we’ve helped thousands of ākonga [students] to learn new skills, grow confidence, and find their place in a rapidly changing world.”
Warwick reinforced the importance of Wintec’s working relationship with Jinhua this year, making two key visits to the institute.

Warwick Pitts, Wintec Operations Lead, welcomes new cohort of students at Jinhua University of Vocational Technology, joined by Chen Hairong, Jinhua University of Vocational Technology Vice President (Left) and Girish Nair, Wintec International Director (Right), October 2025.
In June, he addressed learners at the university’s graduation ceremony and in October, he signed a new memorandum of understanding, renewing a joint commitment to future cooperation while also welcoming the new cohort of students.
Girish Nair, Wintec International Director, joined Warwick on his October trip and is delighted to celebrate the decade-long partnership.
“This milestone reflects not only the longevity of our collaboration but also the vision, commitment, and passion of dedicated teams on both sides who have worked tirelessly to make this partnership a success,” said Girish.
In September, Wintec welcomed a study tour group from Jinhua, further demonstrating the strong relationship between the two education providers.
Students and teachers from Jinhua University of Vocational Technology visit Wintec as part of a study tour in August 2025.
Comprised of 31 students and three teachers, the group had the opportunity to experience life and study with Wintec in Aotearoa New Zealand.
“Being able to study in another country gives these international students the chance to develop important soft skills, broaden their perspectives, and gain awareness and an appreciation for other cultures. These experiences not only prepare them to thrive in any environment but also make them more attractive to future employers,” said Girish.
The visitors spent two weeks in the country, learning about the culture and language, as well as exploring Wintec and the region in which it operates.
Mark Liu, Wintec Transnational Education Manager, has been involved in Wintec’s partnership with Jinhua from its inception and continues to help nurture its growth.
“It’s been a real highlight of my career to help grow the Jinhua and Wintec partnership from its early days into the vibrant college it is now,” said Mark.
“For me, the magic has always been in the people coming together to build a genuine, lasting friendship between our institutions.”
Through its joint institutions and joint programmes, Wintec has 2200 students enrolled offshore. It is also currently working with another partner to establish a third joint institution.
