We offer a diverse and exciting range of trades, engineering, and built environment programmes at various levels. Delivered at our Rotokauri Campus in our purpose-built training centre, you will gain exposure to a wide range of up-to-date equipment and workshops giving you hands-on practical skills that ensure you graduate ready to thrive in the workforce.

Our trades courses include automotive, mechanical, electrical, building and construction, plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying, and industrial measurement and control.

Engineering and built environment programmes include civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, quantity surveying, and architectural technology.

This programme is a starting point for those interested in a career in science and/or engineering. This programme provides a pathway for entry into higher-level science programmes, or to the New Zealand Diploma in Engineering, for those students who don’t already meet the academic entry requirements.

New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Level 3)

Students in this course gain valuable hands-on experience working on a range of vehicles. They spend four-days-a-week on campus participating in variety of projects. They are encouraged to find industry work experience for the fifth day to practice the skills gained in class. Students learn to test and diagnose procedures, study fuel-injected motors, and work with vehicles, trucks, and test equipment.

This course provides students with technical knowledge about the construction industry as well as helping to build their practical, hands-on skills and overall confidence. It covers key aspects such as health and safety, trade calculations, hand tools, and project work related to different aspects of the construction industry.

In this course, students develop the skills necessary to succeed as mechanical tradespeople (such as fitters and welders). Theory projects are designed to challenge and develop their skills with powered industrial equipment, technical drawing, measurement, and hand tools.

This programme is a part-time course that combines distance and block course learning to provide the knowledge you need to effectively install, service, calibrate, commission, and fault find on a wide range of instrumentation.

This course is a managed apprenticeship programme where students study part-time towards becoming qualified while working in a full-time job. Students are supported by a licenced builder gaining hands-on knowledge and practical skills required to succeed in the construction industry.
