Advising clients on face and body care, applying and selling make-up and skincare products, providing electrolysis treatments, and getting very hands on with facials, massages and manicures. A career in the Beauty industry is varied and rewarding.
As a Beauty Therapist you'll look after clients from head to toe. Your day may involve providing treatments for acne or dry skin, getting rid of unwanted hair with electrolysis, or pampering clients with full facials, massages or spa therapy. You will also help clients look and feel their best with cosmetic make-overs, eyebrow tints and manicures.
A Nail Technician is a specialist. Nails are what you do. You will consult with clients to ensure you understand their needs and are able to advise or treat their nails accordingly. This could include trimming and filing of nails, applying the various stages of polish, preparation for artificial nails, nail art, full manicures and massaging of hands and feet.
Scheduling & Workload
Timetables will be provided closer to your start date (as this is dependent on what streams you will be placed in). As a general guideline the expectation is that you will be required to be at Wintec from Monday to Thursday with one late night per week. Fridays are to be spent in self-directed study or in work placement.
