About

Kia ora, my name is Grace, and I am an Academic Learning Advisor here.

My background is in teaching, business and music as an alumna of Waikato University. I am currently studying adult literacy and numeracy education to facilitate quality learning further, empowering and elevating students as they develop important life skills to fully engage in study, work and the communities. Having navigated the learning journey myself, I understand that it can be challenging – I’m here to guide and support you in fulfilling your academic aspirations.

I like my role because it’s different every day, and my passion is helping people of all backgrounds, especially in higher learning. As a previous Peer Tutor, I strongly believe in students supporting students and am involved in related projects where I can express this. Outside of work, you’ll find me experimenting in the kitchen, exploring the beauty of Aotearoa and indulging in my eclectic taste for music.

My team is available for any academic queries, including writing, critical thinking, research and study skills. We specialise in different areas, including maths and science and provide support through workshops, embedded sessions, groups and one-to-one. If you would like to book an appointment, please feel free to email me or drop by our office in the City Hub.

Best of luck with your studies.
