Arboriculture and Horticulture

Do you enjoy working outdoors, love variety, and are passionate about the natural environment? Grow your green thumb at Wintec and develop the hands-on skills, as well as specific technical knowledge, to thrive in the primary industries sector.

Amenity horticulture offers opportunities to shape the future of green spaces, create vibrant city gardens, breathe life into parks, and craft eco-friendly landscapes. We follow the seasons and focus on innovative, sustainable approaches where your efforts can improve the wellbeing of people, communities, and the planet.

Wintec is Aotearoa New Zealand's leading training provider in arboriculture. As an arboriculture student, you will work on real projects, go on field trips, carry out pruning and felling operations, use small machinery, plant out vegetation, and learn all the rigging and tree climbing skills safely.
