Wintec is Aotearoa New Zealand's leading training provider in arboriculture. As an arboriculture student, you will work on real projects, go on field trips, carry out pruning and felling operations, use small machinery, plant out vegetation, and learn all the rigging and tree climbing skills safely.

This programme teaches advanced technical skills around maintenance and management activities, as well as the skills for supervision and more senior roles. Projects for councils and residents will form part of the teaching, including the felling of large, difficult trees. Students will also be involved in work experience trips to regional councils.

This programme will enhance skills and knowledge in specialised arboriculture topics according to the chosen strand of study in addition to core topics such as: relationship management, arboriculture law, and health and safety.
