- On successful completion of this module, it is expected that students will be able to:
1.0Identify and discuss the history and current applications of rock climbing and
caving in Aotearoa New Zealand.
2.0Demonstrate knowledge and skills in relation to the safe use and care of rock climbing and caving equipment.
3.0 Demonstrate tying and application of knots for rock climbing ,abseiling and caving.
4.0 Design, construct and evaluate simple anchor systems for climbing
,abseiling and caving.
5.0Demonstrate knowledge and skills through active participation in rock climbing and caving activities.
6.0 Gain an awareness of the geology and ecology of wild caves and rock climbing sites and the influences upon
