Prescription
To enable students to develop an understanding of the key components of the sport and fitness industry including customer service, professional practice and the operational requirements of the work environment. Students will also gain an understanding of the skills required to assess a client's fitness for activity, to monitor client adherence and to apply strategies to ensure safe and continued exercise adherence.

1.Describe and discuss the components, structure and relationships of the sport and fitness industry, including key stakeholders and administrative partners.
2. Describe and discuss the key administrative and management roles including health and safety and responsibilities associated with the sport and fitness industry.
3.Describe and discuss the ethical principles including related legal and statutory requirements for the sport and fitness industry.
4.Demonstrate effective communication, screening, induction and fitness assessment protocols to gauge exercise readiness, risk analysis, contraindication and monitoring of exercise stress.
5. Understand and demonstrate motivational and behavioural strategies to foster and monitor exercise adherence
