- Upon successful completion of this module the student will be able to:
1. Compare and contrast the various interconnectivity options available between different
network types:
- Discuss and explain; Voice over IP (VoIP), Mobile IP and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
2. Evaluate network management architectures, protocols and ISO frameworks:
- Summarise ISO framework
- Investigate network management architectures
- Discuss and implement a network management protocol (eg, SNMP)
3. Understand the security risks and measures relating to networking:
- Identify security attacks and requirements
- Describe and apply some encryption and authentication techniques
4.Research and compare different networking technologies and assess their suitability for
different networking problems (e.g. optical fibre networks):
5. Investigate and evaluate modern networking technologies :
