Learning Outcomes
1. Apply and critically evaluate clinical reasoning and decision-making frameworks in nursing practice with tangata whaiora in mental health and addiction contexts. 2. Deliver nursing care that is guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi in partnership with tangata whaiora and whanau, in mental health and addiction contexts. 3. Apply cultural safety and cultural responsiveness in diverse mental health and addiction care contexts. 4. Reflect critically on the effectiveness of nursing within the interprofessional team, in mental health and addiction contexts.
Content
Clinical practicum in mental health and addiction settings including acute and continuing care. Hauora is a Maori concept of well-being, which encompasses the physical, mental and emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of health, and is recognised by the World Health Organisation.
Assessment Criteria
The portfolio is comprised of a Clinical Competence Assessment. To pass this module, students must complete a minimum of 224 hours of clinical practicum, meet all learning outcomes, and pass each clinical competency aligned with the allocated Nursing Council Pou.

An extended reading list will be supplied by the academic staff member at the commencement of the module. This will be updated annually.
