Learning Outcomes
1. Apply clinical reasoning and decision-making frameworks to inform nursing practice in long term care settings.
2. Negotiate care underpinned by Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi in partnership with individuals, whanau and other health professionals.
3. Apply the principles of cultural safety to demonstrate cultural openness in nursing practice.
4. Reflect upon and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care.
Content
Clinical practicum in continuing care including rehabilitation/disability care settings.
Assessment Criteria
The portfolio is comprised of a Clinical Competence Assessment. Students need to provide evidence against all learning outcomes and pass each Clinical Competency to pass this module. Students must complete a minimum of 224 hours of clinical practicum to be eligible to complete the Clinical Competence Assessment.
