- 1. Describe and explain the anatomy and physiology of the following organ systems: endocrine, reproductive, immune, lymphatic, nervous system including sense organs.
2. Describe the principles involved in genetics, metabolism and acid-base balance.
3. Describe and classify microorganisms, the process of transmission and describe infection control from a midwifery perspective and other healthcare professional perspectives.
4. Describe and explain basic pharmacological concepts.
5. Correctly use technical equipment and demonstrate accuracy in measurement and recording. - Assessment Criteria
- The portfolio is comprised of multiple components.
Students need to provide evidence against all learning outcomes, and gain an overall mark of 50% to pass this module. - Content
