The purpose of this module is to enable students to develop an understanding of features relating to the phonology, morphology, syntax and discourse systems of the English language.Students will learn to recognise typical areas of language learners' difficulties and will apply this understanding to relevant teaching contexts. They will also develop an understanding of social and cultural factors that impact on English use.
