- By the end of this course the student will be able to:
1. Research and analyse Aotearoa New Zealand sociocultural, political and economic contexts and their significance to journalism and related communications media.
2. Analyse te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te ao Maori (worldview) and tikanga Maori (protocols) as related to (a) the student as an individual and (b) journalism practice in Aotearoa New Zealand.
3. Analyse diversity in Aotearoa New Zealand.
4. Apply key legislation, industry bodies and professional ethics that relate to journalism in Aotearoa New Zealand. - Content
