2: Perform a range of administrative procedures to support everyday operational activities,
including data processing to produce information for business purposes

3: Comply with relevant policies and legislation relating to business entities

4: Apply effective problem solving and decision making for business purposes

5: Produce a range of common business documents using software applications including
word processing software


Content
- Business technologies; including computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers,
laminators, making labels, binders, facsimile, and Outlook, Word, Excel, data management
software, Accounting software, desktop publishing software
- Administrative systems; including photocopying, preparation for meetings, stocktaking, filing,
errands, catering
- Reports and data processing
- Policies and legislation; including health and safety and compliance
- Problem solving and decision making
Teaching and Learning Strategy
Teaching methods will involve theoretical and practical classes including lectures, group work, online activities, workshops, simulation, case studies, projects and guest speakers.
Assessment Criteria
Assessment in this module is mixed mode. The portfolio is comprised of multiple components. To pass the module, the student must attempt any specific assessment components as specified by the Course Outline and must achieve a minimum 50% overall to pass the module.
