- Solve engineering problems using an engineering maths and analysis package.
Develop a program to a specification by devising, coding and testing an algorithm to solve a specified problem.
Use software packages, including spreadsheets, and/or discipline specific software to produce engineering solutions.

Principles of computer program design and data structures
Computer programs in general
Methods, data types, assignments, parameters, loops and iteration, conditional statements.
Spreadsheets: an introduction to their general functionality and use in carrying out engineering calculations. In particular, associating functions and code to cells is explored.
The programming of spreadsheets and/or discipline specific packages for engineering analysis and calculations.
