- Upon successful completion of this module students will be able to:
1.Analyse and critique the major areas of project management and the role of leadership
2. Evaluate project management methodologies and recommend an appropriate project management methodology in relation to a specific project
3. Diagnose reasons for success and failure in Informatics projects with reference to accepted project management methodologies
4. Evaluate metrics to analyse project profitability - Content
- - Gathering, analysing and presenting data, drawing conclusions from data
- Stages of project management (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing)
- Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
- Project management methodologies (including Prince and agile development)
- Risk management
- Change management
- Initiation metrics
- Monitoring and controlling metrics - Learning and Teaching Resource
- Teaching methods will involve theoretical and practical classes, which may include but are not limited to lectures, tutorials, computer laboratory work, group activities and assignments.
