Upon successful completion of this module students will be able to:

1.Analyse and critique the major areas of project management and the role of leadership

2. Evaluate project management methodologies and recommend an appropriate project management methodology in relation to a specific project

3. Diagnose reasons for success and failure in Informatics projects with reference to accepted project management methodologies

4. Evaluate metrics to analyse project profitability
Content
- Gathering, analysing and presenting data, drawing conclusions from data
- Stages of project management (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing)
- Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
- Project management methodologies (including Prince and agile development)
- Risk management
- Change management
- Initiation metrics
- Monitoring and controlling metrics
Learning and Teaching Resource
Teaching methods will involve theoretical and practical classes, which may include but are not limited to lectures, tutorials, computer laboratory work, group activities and assignments.
