People achieving this module will be able to understand the principles of management of parks, gardens, and open spaces to include development, assets, infrastructure, and health and safety monitoring and assessment. Graduates of this module will be capable of using a range of communication and supervision skills and evaluate health and safety requirements and report on activity and work outcomes.

Learning Outcomes
Monitor and assess the maintenance of assets, equipment and infrastructure found in amenity spaces and report on work and findings. Use communication skills to supervise work, provide instruction, information and feedback. Supervise, monitor and report on site safety and hazard management
Content
- Asset and Infrastructure monitoring, assessment and maintenance schedules (note:assets may include plants and soil) - Communication skills - Customer service skills - Managing resources – personal and work related (SMART) - Supervision styles, skills and reporting - Staffing levels - Time frames for project completion - Health and Safety, record keeping. - Sustainable practice
Teaching and Learning Strategy
Teaching and learning methods will be face to face delivery including workshops, project based interactive tasks, with group sessions, tutorials, and creation of portfolios of evidence.
Assessment Criteria
Assessment in this module is mixed mode (both Achievement and Competency) based. To achieve a pass grade for the module the student must complete all pieces of assessment work achieving full competency in any competency-based tasks and gain a mark of at least 50% overall for the achievement-based assessments.
