- Interpret scaled landscape design plans, through communications and drawing.
Apply basic principles of landscape design and awareness of the size of a space .
Work as an effective team member to demonstrate site set-out techniques for laying out a simple landscape drawing.
Using communication methods and interaction with team members, outline and demonstrate the importance of site safety and demonstrate safe work practices.
Undertake basic first aid and life support procedures. - Content
- -Design principles; unity, simplicity, balance, scale and proportion, focus, the garden as a room, walls, floors and ceiling.
-Plan; Scales, dimensions, plan types, plan view, orthogonal (plan views, front views and side views) drawing.
-Site Safety; Hazard ID, elimination, mitigation, isolation, health and safety in the workplace, legislation, site safe plan, personal protection equipment (PPE), tool box meetings, task analysis.
-First Aid; person's conditions, accepted practices.
-Life Support; Hazardous situations, responsiveness, airway, breathing, breathing support, airway obstruction.
-Set-out; boundary location, services, tape measuring, locating features, laser level, profiles, heights, plan set-out.
-Communication and teamwork.
-As specified in attached unit standards evidence requirements. - Teaching and Learning Strategy
- Teaching and learning methods will be face to face delivery including workshops and project based interactive tasks, with group sessions, tutorials, and creation of portfolios of evidence.
