The aim of this module is to provide students with the practical skills to select and perform a range of colouring and de-colouring services as an emerging stylist including client consultations, recommending hair care products and contributing to the profitability of a salon.

Monitor and maintain health and safety practices in the salon when preparing and performing a range of colouring and colouring correction services
Provide hairdressing consultation support for colleagues when preparing for a range of colouring and colouring correction services
Prepare for and provide a range of colouring and colouring correction services
Promote and sell products and services to clients relating to a range of colouring and colouring correction services
Positively contribute to the profitability of a salon relevant to performing a range of colouring and colouring correction services

Teaching and Learning Strategy
Practical, theoretical, face to face, and E-learning including; lectures, tutorials, discussion, group activities, self-directed learning, practical workshops in training salons, inquiry-based learning, and project-based learning.
Assessment Criteria
Assessment in this module is mixed mode. To pass this module all assessments must be submitted and an overall pass mark of 50 is required. Students must also meet all the requirements of the competency-based assessment tasks. The final grade will be based on the marks from the achievement-based tasks.
Learning and Teaching Resource
An extended reading list will be supplied by the tutor at commencement of the module. This will be updated annually.
