2. Select and install common electrical fittings for a variety of applications.
3. Describe and diagnose common electrical faults.
Content
Topics include but are not limited to:
- Electrical cords and cable types, identification and specifications
- Cord and cable installation procedures and practices
- Electrical fittings identification and specifications
- Electrical fittings installation procedures and practices for diverse situations
- Diagnosing common electrical faults
- Using test equipment to fault find and test various electrical installations
- Legislative requirements testing installations
Assessment Criteria
Theory and practical assessments are selected from range of methods described in the programme document. Assessment methods may vary from provider to provider to accommodate regional requirements. Students will be advised of all matters relating to summative assessment at the start of the course.

This course is assessed using competency-based assessment. Students must successfully complete all summative assessments in order to pass and receive credit for this course.
Teaching and Learning Strategy

Learning and teaching activities employed in this course may vary slightly, from provider to provider and cohort to cohort, to accommodate varying cohort numbers, localised resources and requirements.

All courses contain a combination of learning activities aimed at providing a mix of practical-based or applied activity as well as the presentation of theoretical knowledge.
