To Identify and manage common horticultural hazards on site and safety rules for horticultural workplaces at the Horticultural Education Centre / Campus. Provision and management of first aid for injuries related to the hazards identified.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module the student will be able to:
- Recognise employer and employee statutory rights and responsibilities
- Recognise and manage health and safety issues
- Recognize specific hazards in horticulture
- Recognise safety rules and policies for the Horticultural Education Centre (HEC)
- Demonstrate safe lifting techniques
- Manage first aid
- Provide basic first aid until help arrives
- Provide basic life support

- Standard First Aid Certificate as taught by St John's
