- - This module will include a minimum of 10 hours of observation in an agency.
- Codes of ethics and ethical considerations in counselling practice, including Maaori ethical considerations
- Agency practices, processes and documentation
- Professional practice and codes of conduct
- Preparing for practice
- Individual counselling theory, practices, strategies and processes
- Group counselling theory, practices, strategies and processes
- Maaori and Western supervision approaches
- Professional supervision, including the role of supervision and role of supervisee to counselling practice
- Reflections and self-assessment
- Ethics of group work
- Conflict management in groups
- Power and influence in groups - Teaching and Learning Strategy
- May include: Project-based Learning; Flipped Classroom; Blended Learning; Work-Integrated Learning; Inclusive Practices.
Methods may include workshops and practical classes, tutorials, case-based learning, inquiry-based learning, group activities & discussion, supported online learning, e-portfolio, practice simulation. - Assessment Criteria
- The portfolio is comprised of multiple components.
Students need to provide evidence against all learning outcomes, and gain an overall mark of 50% to pass this module.
Students must meet all the practice context experience requirements, including complete a minimum of 10 hours of observation in a placement agency to be eligible to complete this module. - Learning and Teaching Resource
