1. Demonstrate clinical competence for entry to the registered nurse scope of practice.
2. Apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi and integrate knowledge of Te Ao Maaori in the practice context.
3. Employ a critical approach to health assessment, diagnostic decision making and clinical reasoning in practice.
4. Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacotherapeutics and its evidence base for safe medicine management.
5. Critically evaluate therapeutic plans and manage responses to drug therapy including adverse drug reactions and situations of drug misuse.
6. Demonstrate appropriate self-care strategies.

Assessment Criteria
The portfolio is comprised of multiple components. Students need to provide evidence against all learning outcomes and gain 50% in the Evidence Portfolio and pass the Clinical Competence Assessment to pass this module.
