In this module a selected range of theories of documentaries are viewed in their historical contexts. Emphasis is given to film, television and still photography, with the module illuminating important documentary movements, key practitioners, and significant theories that underpin practice. Issues and concepts explored will include politics, gender, race, social conditions, art movements, modes of production and the influence of the market place.
