Assessment Criteria
Assessment in this module is competency-based. In order to pass this module students must attempt and meet all the requirements of the competency-based assessments including carrying out all tasks in a safe manner and to industry standard

Content
Assessment and management of people to provide first aid, in an emergency, and to provide basic life support. Friable and non-friable asbestos, ACOP asbestos related terms, respiratory entry, disease risk, risk perception and protection. Legal rights and responsibilities, safe working practices. Types of gasses and hazards, main properties of gasses, dangers of working where gas is present, and safe working practices when working with solvents. Fire prevention, eliminating sources of ignition, gas fire actions, exposure to toxic gases, notification requirements of gas incursion. Fall hazard terminology, personal equipment faults & non-compliance. Safety harness hazards, different safety harness systems, associated equipment & compliance. Checking a safety harness system, using a safety harness system, rescue planning.
