Student Village

Is this your first time away from home? The Student Village could be perfect for you!

Wintec Student Village is a fully catered facility situated at 181 Collingwood Street, a five minute walk from downtown Hamilton and the City Campus and approximately a 10-15 minute drive from the Rotokauri or Hamilton Gardens Campuses.

The Student Village has 15 villa-styled units, each with five single bedrooms. All bedrooms include a single bed, study desk, chair, cupboards and wardrobe and each unit includes separate shared shower and toilet facilities, a kitchenette and phone and internet access.

The Student Village is staffed to provide you with a safe, secure and comfortable living environment (including 24 hour security cameras) as well as offering a programme of community plus social activities.

Wellbeing and safety practices

Student Village is designed to provide a supportive environment for school leavers to transition from home and into a new environment. Trained staff (one Residential Manager and three Residential Leaders) live on-site to provide pastoral care to residents. Each resident is assigned a Residential Leader as a first point-of-contact for general matters. The ratio of Residential Leaders to residents is approximately 1:25. A staff member is on duty after hours and can be contacted for emergencies. Unexplained absences from the community are investigated twice a week. Staff and residents facilitate a range of events and activities throughout the year to help create a vibrant, enriching community where every resident has the opportunity to make new friends and undergo personal growth.
