Vocational Pathway - Social and Community Services Sector (NCEA Level 2)

About the programme

This programme will give you an introduction into the areas of Health, Early Childhood Education and Social and Community Services.  You will learn about health topics such as the rights of clients, the role of support workers and infection control. The community services modules will cover support services and community development, while the early childhood education modules will cover the promotion of child health and wellbeing. The practical components to this programme will enable you to participate in community field trips and industry-relevant activities.

Criteria: Students enrolled in the WTA must still attend secondary school and keep up with their normal school work.

Duration of programme: 31 weeks

Programme structure: 1 day per week (8.30am-3pm) during the school term.

Location: City Campus, Hamilton.

Cost: Free to the student.

Transport: To be arranged with your school and if applicable covered by WTA.
