Care for floristry stock and merchandise - Unit 20686
This unit is mainly theory based and introduces students to the care and treatment of cut flowers, foliage and pot plants within a retail floristry store after they arrive from growers, markets and nurseries.
Students are required to complete a segment of work experience within a floristry store. Sign off of an on-job tasks booklet is required (by their work experience supervisor) to complete the unit pass.
DKO of flowering plants and foliage - Unit 12057
This unit is theory based and has two assignments. The first assignment is based on simple plant anatomy and physiology while the second assignment covers Botany Nomenclature. Students must correctly write the botanical names of 30 flowers and 20 foliage plants.
Upon a completion pass in one or both units, students may cross-credit towards the Certificate in Floristry Practice (Level 3)
