As this STAR experience contains unit standards, students must attend all given dates to complete the assessment requirements.

What is it all about?

If you have basic cooking abilities and want to learn how to make various pastry dishes, then this 5-day taster is for you. In our training kitchen, you will learn how to make and create a variety of pastry items such as sausage rolls, eclairs, and banana flan. 

What to bring and/or wear?

You will be working in our trainee commercial kitchens and will need to:

  • Wear long pants,
  • have leather-topped shoes,
  • hair is to be tied back, and
  • have no facial jewellery or other jewellery on.​
