Choosing your school subjects

So it is time to choose your subjects, and like many people across the country, the endless options can give you a headache. Do not stress; you are not alone and have plenty of options. If you are a few years off finishing school, try keeping your subjects as broad as possible. If you can, we recommend studying maths, English and science to keep your options open as you move closer towards study after high school.

If you realise in your final year of school that you have not taken all the subjects you need to get into the course you want to do, do not panic. Talk to the Careers Advisor at school, or contact our Wintec recruitment team to discuss what your options are.

Online Q&A Information Session

Are you thinking about studying in 2022 and feeling nervous about how this may look for you with the new traffic light system in place? Join us on Zoom to find out how you can get your career started at our Online Q&A Information Session.

Studying any of our courses at Wintec involves learning both the knowledge and practical skills that you can apply immediately, within an apprenticeship, in the workplace after you graduate.

This is a whānau-friendly event, open to all ages, and is a great opportunity to speak with our staff and get clarity on any questions they may have regarding study.

We understand that many may be nervous about interacting with others, as there have been many different government announcements since this most recent lockdown. We hope this online zoom event will help with reassurance that you will still be able to speak with us and have your questions/concerns answered from the comfort of your own homes/spaces. Overall, this information session will be general and cover any enquiries about our courses and services prompted by those attending.

Date: Thursday 16 December 2021
Time: 4.30pm-5.30pm
Where:  Online via Zoom
